Why a short url?

Would you rather type:
gfn.me/09r
or
Greg.Fellin.org/some-very-long-domain-name-which-may-or-may-not-have-some-numbers-in-it-too-609-8708-65497-6475-3643-698-7t087-0845-now-which-do-you-prefer

Here's hint on my system for in cases where you start with a number after the "/", which would have to do with the date of the post.

The first number stands for the year.
0 = 2010, 1 = 2011, 2 = 2012
and so on...

The second number/letter stands for the month of the post.
1 = January, 2 = February, 9 = September, 0 (zero) = October, a = November & b = December
(see list below).

The 3rd number/letter day of the month.
(see list below for cases of letters)

Single numbers are them selves, but once you get to double digits just use a letter.

01 = 1
...
04 = 4
05 = 5
...
09 = 9
10 = 0 (zero)
11 = a
12 = b
13 = c
14 = d
